YOU CANNOT ‘MASTER’ GOD

1 Corinthians 8:1b-2 Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. Anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn’t really know very much.

Anyone who assumes the state of “a master” may be adjudged as one who has reached the height or pinnacle of expertise. So in many cases, the master is deemed as needing no further learning. Therefore, the tendency at that stage is for pride to set in because of an abundance of knowledge.

We may not only be puffed up in our personal lives, but even in our walk with God. We may forget that He is sovereign because while God has shared some of his attributes with us, can also forget that He remains in a class of his own.

We can very easily become people who think we have “mastered God”. That is, we can get so familiar with the His ways that we begin to expect a level of predictability with him. That state is what will make the word of God and his power of no effect in your life. Your learning, even in life, is never ending; so surely you cannot ‘master God’.
