HAVE AN INNER DIALOGUE

Our focus today falls back to Joseph, husband of Mary and the man who stood as father in the earthly life of Jesus. He found himself in a predicament where his betrothed wife was found pregnant before they came together. Our verse of interest is

Matthew 1:19:'Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly'

This was not a communal consensus, it was a conclusion arrived at after careful and personal contemplation. He was aware of the implications both to himself, and to Mary. So what is our lesson?

We don’t have to make noise with, and about everything. This is by all means not an invitation to stay silent about the things that matter, but because we have the mind of Christ, there are many times when we are invited to have an inner dialogue. This dialogue is moderated by the Holy spirit who is indwelling. Through it, we come to realise that:

• not every victory song should be heard by the world,
• not every battle should be announced from roof tops,
• not every limitation should be heard by all,
• not every good deed should become an anthem and
• Not every pain licenses you as a global advocate.
