PROXIMITY IS NOT ALWAYS ACCESS

Luke 4:27 And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”

Looking back at the words of Jesus, it can be inferred that a lot was missed out on over the course of Elisha’s ministry, if Naaman was the only recorded leper to be healed. Surely, it suggests there was grace to heal, only that men did not discern its presence.

You can walk around a door and yet have no permission to enter. So simply ‘hanging around’ people or things does not mean you have access. Many of us are however stuck in this loop – we have pitched our tents close to graces, influence, wealth or power, but have never truly entered in because we are yet to discern.

Thus, as far as men are concerned, real access begins the day you come to know what they represent. And that goes beyond general or scientific knowledge – you need to be helped by God. Proximity does not equate to access, discernment is what holds the key.
