DON’T GIVE ALL THE ANSWERS

Reference text: John 1:45-51

We read a passage in scripture that captures two scenes. The first is Nathaniel’s question to Phillip “can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

The easiest thing for Philip to do would have been to provide a strong case for why something good could come out of Nazareth. Instead, he makes a simple yet interesting remark “come and see”. As we read further, we notice the dialogue between Jesus and Nathaniel leading up to where he says “Rabbi, you are the son of God. You are the king of Israel”

We notice that Nathaniel answered his own question, Philip only directed. So here is our lesson: we do not always have to provide the answers to every question asked ourselves Sometimes, all we need to do is guide the seeker to find the right answers themselves.
