MADE WONDERFULLY COMPLEX

The word coming to mind as the anchor for today’s text of reference is “awe’. The Webster dictionary in exploring this word defines awe as ” a complex emotion characterized by a deep blend of overwhelming wonder, respect, and sometimes fear. It is typically triggered by encountering something vast, powerful, or sublime”

So today, just as the question “what is man” was put forward in Psalm 8:5, David speaking today presents another revelation he had come to terms with and for which he was praying God for the wonder of his being in Psalms 139:14. Our verse of interest today in various renditions captured David’s awe.

In the message translation we read “
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
NLT reads” Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex” and theore popular NKJV “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made”.

You are probably the only one who see yourself as ordinary. Your architecture is however not something to trivialize. The artistry that has gone into your fashioning, in the image and likeness of God, indeed captures such complexities that words may fail to accurately express them.

You have been made wonderfully complex – take a moment to let that sink in.
