LOOK FOR THE LOGS FIRST

Matthew 7:5 You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will be able to see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

A speck or a smudge on a big background can be hard to see. In many instances, one has to really go looking to identify one. For most people, they become so focused on looking for specks that on any painted canvas, the only things they will see are the exactly that. The misaligned brush stoke, the incorrectly placed item, or wrong shade of colour.

For such people, the focus on error finding often blinds them to seeing their very own shortfalls and limitations. The harder they look, the easier it becomes to miss out on what they can improve on. In pride, they think all there is to ponder on are the weak points of others.

Looking introspectively to identify the things that can bring you down is as important as finding those things that can build up. A log should be hard to miss, so look first for the logs in your eyes, before going after the specks in the eyes of others.
