DAY 142

John 16:30 Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God.”
I know it might seem like we simply believed in Jesus when we found out about Him and stayed following and continually believing the rest of the way. However, reading the account today brings one thing to mind, “we each have a moment where our convictions have been solidified”.
That encounter, that deliverance, that hearing, healing or seeing that cleared all doubts and made us say ‘I choose Jesus’. For the disciples in today’s Gospel, it took Jesus speaking in plain language for them to acknowledge ‘now we know hence we believe’.
I have a moment whenever I read the pages of the word of God- it just reads like no other piece of literature. Here is some truth ‘until we each find our moment, a point of reference drawn out from faith on which we anchor our convictions and belief about Jesus, we stand to be tossed around by the crushing waves in the sea of confusion.
Even Saint Paul reaches a point where his confession was ‘I know whom I have believed and I am convinced He is able to keep that which I have commended to him'(2 Tim 1:12). That was his moment of anchoring.
So I ask you a question ‘when was your anchoring moment with Jesus?’
