MOVE UP THE NEXT LEVEL
John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Jesus introduced two levels of relationship, highlighting clearly what the differences were between those two levels. He revealed this crucial difference as ‘the restriction of access to information’
The servant does not know what their master is doing because the master is not obligated to tell them the reasoning behind any orders issued. All they have to do is follow, whether they agree or not. Between friends however, that restriction is non existent and information can be freely shared.
Thus, we infer that there are levels in intimacy, both with God and with men. Clearly, this level is established by the degree and nature of information that freely flows between the parties involved. God however wishes us to move up the levels – from master-servant through to a friendship with Him. Not even end there, but move on to our real place as sons and daughters to the ultimate realisation that we are heirs to the promise.
Beloved, there needs to be progression in our walk with God, a process that is revealed in what can be freely communicated to us or gleaned from his Word and His voice.
