The moment I read the opening verse of today’s, Gospel, me mind was immediately cast to the story of Abraham and Lot in Genesis 13. Their herdsmen were involved in a strife and to bring peace, Abraham proposed a separation, a proposal to which lot agreed.
Where we find the similarity is in the aftermath after the separation. We read in Genesis 13:14
'And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.
Like father like son, both waited for a specific exit prior to releasing certain information. Beloved, there will be some things which cannot become your possession as long as you remain tied to certain habits, places and relationships. There may be places God wishes to take you, things He wishes to show you, but not with all those attachments.
Find out what you ought to be separated from, for after that, access would be granted.
