THE REWARD FOR OBEDIENCE

THE REWARD FOR OBEDIENCE

113/365

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Sometimes obeying God isn’t great. It is a hustle many in the right frame of mind would do well to avoid.

It can make you look stupid, ask Abraham who was asked to offer up his son or Moses, who was to call forth water from a rock,
It can make you an object of scorn and derision – ask Mary, who was to become pregnant despite knowing no man.
It can cause you great tribulations – ask Peter and Paul.

Yet, today Peter responds to the Pharisees ‘We know what you told us, we actually heard you loud and clear only that we choose not to listen because’ it is better to obey God than man.’ Why?

For Mary’s obedience meant all generations now call her blessed, she became mother of God.
Abraham became father of nations, and His name, is recorded in the Annals of faith.
Moses spoke to God face to face as a friend would while,
Peter’s passing shadow healed the sick and cast out demons, and one sermon converted thousands. Paul, became a treasure to the church.

It matters not then how one’s obedience to God might seem because in the end, there is a prized crown that outweighs that cross you carry.
