Jeremiah 18:18 Then the people said, "Let's do something about Jeremiah! There will always be priests to instruct us, the wise to give us counsel, and prophets to proclaim God's message. Let's bring charges against him and stop listening to what he says."

Often we recoil into our shells when faced with an immense challenge stating ‘we are just one person’. One just needs to take a look at history to see how much impact, whether for good or for bad, one person in a strategic place of power and influence can have on the life of an entire generation. A seismic shift might even be an under representation.

This is the error made by those who sought to attack Jeremiah: God had guaranteed that nothing against him would prevail but to his enemies, He was just one other man, another dispensible individual. They therefore failed to locate his role in the agenda of God. They were yet to reconcile how one person could be so valuable.

God is strategic and in his grande scheme of things, of course many hands are available for His use. However, His hand upon one person in the right place of power and influence can cause gigantic moves for the Kingdom and for such a person, the jealousy of God burns hot.
