Isaiah 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

We often turn our attention to the sovereignty of God in all matters, His ability to override and overrule the affairs of men. And rightly so because He is Almighty – He can interrupt, interject and intersect the matters regarding His creation as He so desires.

But there is something we forget also, that we have our roles to play and in the very least, our wills matter. Therefore, as we read, it takes more than just obedience, the disposition of a person’s heart towards a particular outcome matters. Otherwise when things arrive, you could be in an atmosphere that will reject it for it did not encounter a willing spirit.

As much God would prefer to cause every good thing to have expression in our lives, without our willingness, there is only so much He can do. Even though He could force His way in then, He keeps knocking on the doors of our heart till our willing hearts prompt us to open up.
