WE ARE ALSO HUMAN

Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Today’s text made came not just as a reminder but also as rebuke, and that is what the word of God ought to do.
When we find others in particular situations where their ‘humanity’ trumps their expected spirit nature, it is easy to render our verdict- guilty, they deserved that, they should not have done that.

We hold nothing and bite back with ‘brutal honesty’, we condemn and we render judgement.  We even make it seem as though we are over and beyond all such occurrences forgetting that ‘we are also men who carry with our humanity, some weakness.’

It should not be a surprise then that the words of Saint Paul cautions us ‘Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.’ (1 Cor 10:12). It does not take being ‘superhuman’ because even that person is still ‘human’. It takes one helped of God to truly stand.

Beloved, we all have weaknesses and battles, mountains we are scaling. It takes our surrender at the foot of the cross to attain the victory we so desire.
