YOU HAVE TO WANT TO
Luke 9:28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
Mountains have always been symbolic of the place of encounter, the place where men encountered God. So in the life of Abraham, Moses, Elijah and even Jesus, we see many occasions where a trip up a mountain was necessitated.
One must therefore strive to attain a higher level of elevation and be prepared to journey towards the summit of the mountain to experience a corresponing level of encounter. It becomes apparent also then that as the bare minimum, to journey up any mountain, one ought to have a higher level of physical fitness and endurance as well as the mental fortitude to sustain the accent.
It really does not matter that the view from the top is amazing and one can see farther and wider from the mountain top. The truth is you would have to want to get to the summit because there isn’t any mountain that has a straight, smooth and red-carpeted route to its summit.
You really cannot get to the top of any mountain by accident.
