CAN WE MEET HIS STANDARDS?

Matthew 5:20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven

Are we ever going to meet the standards of God? The gold standards we read about and the added expectation that are required of us while on this Christian walk actually do seem like an impossible feat to attain. It might appear be fair to even say a ‘reasonable pass’ or even just scrapping through should make us rather proud.

And of course it’s God’s golden standard, it couldn’t simply be a walk in the park.

Yet, those expectations and standards have an interesting way of doing something rather special. Instead of causing us to become downcast and worried, they can rather ignite our passion and enthusiasm for mastery.

Beloved, when we face those moments littered with a long list of the things that seem ‘impossible to attain’, God throws in a very casual

‘I see your potential and capacity to stretch yourself, because I put it there myself. Keep pushing on, we’ve got this together’
