Mark 9:15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.

Many job roles come with goal setting at the start of the year;  targets measurable by key performance indicators. At the time of appraisal then, it is this yardstick against which success will be gauged.

It therefore becomes necessary to ponder on the questions below for a bit:

• Why are underperformers in jobs with set targets often ‘moved on’ after a number of failed attempts?
• Why do parents take underperforming children out of certain schools to another?
• Why are people ready to transfer investments to a pool that promisee better returns?

It might sound fickle and maybe unfair to us, but the crowd abandoned all argument with the disciples and thronged to Jesus when they saw him approaching. Yes, They RAN UP to him. Why? Because the news that had spread abroad about him was that he ‘provided answers and results’ – miracles followed Him.

Thus, while we consider a lot of things, let’s not underestimate the place of results. It is one thing that will keep people with you, draw them towards you or keep them away.
