There are many areas in our life where our attention is required. As much as career, social or spiritual advancement matter to us, these have a central point terminating in the physical health of the one who pursues them.

Without a healthy body, all those pursuits have no meeting place. The family of Jesus decided to take matters into their own hands when they realised he and his disciples had become too swamped with work even to eat (Mark 3:20-21).

These situations are common with us and we justify it often with the words ‘it got so busy’ or ‘I had no time’. That may be right, however, our bodies are our responsibility to take care of. In other words, among the things to prioritise, our physical health should not be left out. John’s words come to mind:  ‘Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.’ (3 John 1:2)
