When one decides to complete a DIY project, you get many individual pieces which you follow a manual to assemble. If you don’t know where any piece fits, you are likely to deem it as unimportant.

A personal recommendation would be to take a few minutes to read the message version of 1st Corinthians 12, an excerpt reads as follows:

"For no matter how significant you are, it is only because of what you are a part of. An enormous eye or a gigantic hand wouldn’t be a body, but a monster. What we have is one body with many parts, each its proper size and in its proper place"(verses 19,20).

We do the body a great disservice then when we fail to grow our gifts and our talents. However, there is an even greater disservice when we fail to realise what part of the body we are – whether an eye, an ear, a hand, etc.

Beloved, the importance of your role in the body and the necessity of your gifts to body of Christ are too great of a matter for you to trivialise what you carry.

Find out what part of the body you are and fulfil your purpose accordingly because the whole body cannot be just an ear nor an eye.
