DAY 244 OF 365 IN 2021

Luke 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Jesus encountered an audience by the lake on his walk. He got into one of the boats on the shore requested that it moved up a little and taught the people. After teaching, scripture records, he turned to Simon and asked him to let down his net for a catch.

It may seem unlinked, but we ought to bear in mind that Simon and his companions on his boat were a part of Jesus’ audience. He wasn’t just teaching the people “apart Peter”, he was included in the message. So when he turned to him with specific instruction, put out into the deep and ready your nets for a catch, there had been a foundation upon which those words were being established.

Scripture does not specify the exact content of the message Jesus taught the people, but we can be confident it was one that inspired faith. It was enough to trigger a response from Peter at the first time of asking when he responded “at your word, I will let down the nets”. For we know that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ( Romans 10:17)

Beloved, every word proceeding out of the mouth of the LORD has creative and restorative power. It carries weight and has the capacity to water any seed planted. Let the word of faith you hear then impact your world.
