Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Our thinking is a massive player in influencing the actions we take, therefore, when one enters a field of play with a predetermined mindset; it skews actions along a particular line. Looking at this in another light, when we become aware that specific actions produce or even have the potential to produce positive results, they are very likely to become the new normal and the go to methodology.
The heathens that Jesus described went into prayer with a predetermined mindset – they thought that the longer their prayers were, the higher the likelihood of getting them answered. On the basis of that thought alone, they put their prayer life into a fixed shape box thereby establishing strict boundaries of rigidity.
Beloved, thinking will remain the starting point of actions. Therefore, whatever dominates our minds, whatever occupies our thought, or whatever we think is the sure guarantee for results may become our norm. So my dear, watch the thoughts.
