LESSON THREE
You can gain knowledge from the most unexpected of situations and people
Some people are deemed experts in their field, they are deemed the best. But going through the year, I realised lessons can be picked up from unexpected places. A message on a bus, a poster on a wall, a child’s statement, or even a stranger’s comment. I have learnt valuable lessons from every encounter and to appreciate that knowledge can be on offer from different places.
LESSON FOUR
Trust the still small voice
I recall ranking a series of four protocols in a specific order only to be nudged to alter the order just before submission. That change proved to be right. There are moments when we have also made last-minute changes, focused on specific pages of text or settled on particular decisions based on a subtle nudge from within. That still small voice, which can be easily missed, is often the loudest voice we can hear.
