Mark 2:19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bride chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
No matter how ‘spiritual or religious’ one can boast of being, choosing to be present at a wedding only signifies a willingness to share in the joy of the couple hence it becomes almost a responsibility to be a part of the dining and wining. An opposite occurrence will be the case at a funeral where one shares in the sorrows of others.
Jesus asks the Pharisees a question to which he provided an answer. He simply said, ‘there is no fasting but feasting at a wedding’. In these words, he tells all his listeners, including us, to pay attention to the seasons within which we find themselves.
It is only after understanding what seasons or period we are in that we can make anything of it. There are seasons to do battle and seasons to rest, periods to mourn and those to rejoice exceedingly- doing anything else at those moments represents an opportunity lost.
We have to come to terms with the fact that circumstances and seasons will keep changing all the time hence we cannot be stuck within a particular period. We will not always be on a high, however we should not be stuck in the low too. It is important to be perfectly placed and poised to make the most of whatever seasons within which we find ourselves.
Remember # seasons will keep changing so don’t stay dormant.
