1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
Consequences are always nested into choices. Often times, we make choices while remaining blissfully ignorant of the consequences. If all consequences indeed manifested as intended, we would stand no chance.
What we deserve, by virtue of our choices would perhaps have been a life of misery and emptiness because we won’t get decisions right every single time. But like Saint Paul, the Grace of God rewrites the script so that:
Where we were deserving of judgment, mercy prevailed,
Where we were deserving of death, life spoke,
Where our verdict was guilty, acquittal was pronounced,
Where we were drowning in debt, all was forgiven, and
Where darkness led our walk, light shone forth brightest.
We are indeed what we are, by the grace of God, lest any man should boast in himself.
