JUST A REMINDER

In your life, you would have come across in person or in reading history, people once haughty and proud, bold and unfazed in their approach to living. The same people may often have little regard for the lives and pain of others, as though it was only about themselves. However, there may come other seasons in the life of those same people when they assume a different outlook. Out goes the pride and brushness, and in comes a deeper appreciation for the beauty of life. What changed? You may ask.

From the story of Israel today, we get a glimpse into what could have been:
Deuteronomy 8:2-3 reads: “

Remember that for 40 years the Lord your God led you on your journey in the desert. He did this in order to humble you and test you. He wanted to know whether or not you would wholeheartedly obey his commands."

There are situations you may go through in life that change you into another person. There are challenges and trials that come to prove your faith and convictions, while some are programmed to gauge your readiness for higher levels. Others come as an assessments of your character.

In all these, the goal of those situations and moments are intended to alter your entire outlook of life, and transform you: not into a bitter version of yourself, but rather a better version. They are intended to keep you grounded, and to remind you like King Nebuchadnezzar that “the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.’(Daniel 4:17)
