WHAT TEMPLATES ARE YOU FOLLOWING?

Reference text: John 15:9-11

Jesus uses an interesting choice of words today: “As the father has loved me, so have I loved you”. In other words, the template of love which the father has shown me, is the same I have shown you. I dare present this to you because the father shows the gold standard of what love looks like.

Saint Paul captures it this way ‘the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God (the father) , and the fellowship the Holy Spirit. So if we truly want to know about love, God the father, is the yardstick. There is no other.

So what if the templates we learnt from were not the right ones? What if what we deemed as the right way of doing things is actually not? What if our recommended ways of execution are actually substandard?
What if the templates of love, relationship, wealth acquisition and living life which we swear by, are anything but that?

What will it take to unlearn and relearn? Will it hurt your pride and ego to abandon your ways to follow a template God recommends? These are questions to ponder on.
