TROUBLED AND FEARFUL HEARTS

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid

Events in life do not alway crystallize fear, the first state is agitation, a state of restlessness in spirit and soul which reflects outwardly in action. Jesus describes this as “a troubled heart”. This reflects a state of uneasiness and can often be difficult to explain. It’s just a subtle absence of peace in the inner man and is often a cue that one needs a buffer of assurance and a call to anchorage.

Finding a promise of God applicable to the specific situation, and meditating on it, or praying through till a note of victory is the way out of “a troubled heart”

There is another dimension, which Jesus describes as “a fearful heart”. This causes shrinking and often, acts of cowardice. This state of heart sponsors inaction, an unusual state where one might be literally frozen and too worried about known or unknown outcomes to initiate action.

The way out of a fearful heart is to acknowledge the magnificence of God. Where He is exalted above every fear. The more of His might, ability and power you can believe, and the more cognizant you become of who you have been made in Him, the less fearful your heart will be.
