YOU DO NOT LOSE WITH GOD

DAY 219

Numbers 11:4-5 Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic;

This was Israel’ lamentation: “Before you, we may have been in bondage, but we had some comforts. Our meals were guaranteed, and we can remember the individual ingredients on our plate. The old times from memory, seemed more appealing than this new thing you are doing with us’. In fact, we are not really sure what you are doing with us.

Often, we have the same questions for God: ‘whatever it is you doing with us, what is it called?’ We have followed you believing everything would be better, that our paths would be eased and our progress assured. But what is this? Disappointment is even closer to our door steps and our current state is far worse than our previous.

In fact, although we have left many things behind for your sake, it appears we have not really gained anything.

Beloved, if our measure of gain with God is set solely on physically tangible things, we might not see much at all. Sometimes, the things we obtain in our pursuit of God, are not readily measurable and might even be hidden in plain sight. Therefore, while you may not have seen it yet, you can always be certain that you do not lose with God.
