PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE

DAY 144

Acts 20:29 I know that after my departure, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.

You cannot prepare the future. Why? Because you are not the only person who has a say on how it turns out. As  matter of fact, the decision of everybody, whether good or bad, will continue to contribute to the shaping of the future.

Paul was very aware about the fact that his absence was likely to trigger a wave of concerns in the camp of those who were following him. Thus, what he consciously did thoughout his ministry was to build men with capacity. He introduced men to the Word, the Holy Spirit, to Jesus and the Power in His name. He explained to them values and virtues that would help them navigate the course of whatever future they would find themselves in.

So our message, you cannot prepare the future, for yourself or for anyone, but you can prepare yourself and others for whatever future you will encounter. Be teachable, stay humble, keep learning and rely on the leadings of the Holy Spirit. That way, no future can trigger any edge of fear in you.
