DAY 45

Mark 8:15-16 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
The one thing we can trust our mind to do to is to store truckloads of information. This storehouse is what is utilised in making meaningful connections to the events we encounter. The mind is a master artisan, able to paint detailed images with or without assistance. This is the reason certain sounds or motions trigger particular responses even when we are unware. It’s your mind on autopilot.
Therefore, past and previous information including data from culture, education, faith, relationships and experiences; carry within them the potential to become the lenses through which we interpret things. Not that this is incorrect, but challenges arise when that set of information contains within it variations that require updating.
Every information, including experience, even if good; can become quite become dangerous if it is not vetted through the lens of the word of God. Saint Paul writes in Romans 12:2 that ‘our lives have to be transformed by the renewing of our minds”- This encompasses an overwriting of old precepts, concepts, principles and patterns of thinking and rewriting them according to the template of the mind of Christ.
Otherwise, we will respond to many of life’s situation from the wrong perspective.
