REFUGE IN HIS SUFFICIENCY

DAY 22

Reading today’s Psalm just had me smiling. It’s one of the verses in scripture that has a lifting feel. Its words, a series or rhetorical questions actually don’t seem like questions at all. Rather, they appear to affirm a Trust in the Lord. The words of today’s Psalm reads,

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be AFRAID? (Psalm 27:1-2)

Thinking about this, these words came to mind ‘it’s not about what I do or what I have, it’s about who He is and what He has the ability to do”. I almost entirely have no doing responsibility, mine is to trust in the one who has the ability to do. He says it, I believe it and it is done.

Therefore, it is a call to abandon ourselves in the sufficiency of his grace and provision, knowing that we are not sufficient of our own accord, but our sufficiency is of God.
