YOU’RE FIRED

The reality show ‘The Apprentice’ has a signature statement that is associated with it,  and that is ‘you’re fired’. Whenever any individual is relieved of their post, or ‘fired’, unless this was executed with malicious intent, a reason that will often be identified as contributing factor for such outcomes is an inability to execute the responsibilities demanded of them in the role.

Today, the shepherds of Israel were all to be fired from their post with the Lord himself taking over the shepherding job. And simar to the above scenario, of the job description required of them, not even one had been executed. Their charges were laid out as follows:

'The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them.' (Ezekiel 34:4) 

God therefore demanded His sheep from their hands.

Beloved, whatever has been committed to you, whether big or small, returns are expected. There are expectations that come with every privilege, every gift, every grace, every anointing. You cannot receive them and just go to bed because it’s giver will take them out of your hand for all his gifts and graces are giving for the profiting of the entire body. They are not to be hoarded.
