Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

It is actually a big deal for the Holy Spirit to get involved in a matter placing specific restrictions on a person’s set of actions. That is what we read about in the Acts of the Apostles today where Paul and His companions were forbidden and not allowed to share the Gospel in specific territories.

Mind you – they were also running with the commission to make disciples of all nations, yet there were embargoes in place on the places they could go to.

Very often in our lives, we see closed doors as part of the schemings by the evil one to prevent us from attaining God’s best. Yet we forget that when God says No, it means closed doors and even windows. Every access is sealed off. This may seem like a play on our emotions and a breach of our freedoms; so we rebel. We push and fight back hoping to find a way through God’s vehement No!

Beloved, whenever God does not  grant permission for us to go through certain doors or lifts the grace that granted us access to certain people and places, He always has a reason. This He does because He has seen things we have not, heard and knows things we do not. Thus even our rebellion isn’t enough to soften His hand for His love is relentless.
