Matthew 26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
‘A time or a set of circumstances that make something possible’ – that is the definition of an opportunity. Thus, regardless of the intention behind one’s search for an opportunity, one thing is highlighted ‘there is a time and set of circumstances that makes something possible’.
So what Judas does after receiving the 30 pieces of silver from the Chief priests was to begin looking for an opportunity. By definition, he went in search of a time and circumstances that would make the betrayal of Jesus possible.
Something I heard comes to mind: ‘everything is possible but not under every circumstance’. You’re looking for opportunities, but to what end and to what effect? What timings and preparatory works are you putting in place? If nothing is done, even the best opportunity would simply be just another challenge.
