KEEP THE WORD IN YOUR HEART
The message to the people of Israel today was to keep their soul diligently, so that whatsoever they had seen, witnessed and heard, would stay with, and in them.
Here is a truth that the message ought to also communicate to us: ‘You don’t prepare for battle when the fighting starts’. Such a situation already puts you at a massive disadvantage.
Whether then it is the teachings we hear, the Scriptures we read, or the encouraging words spoken to us; we ought to find a way to preserve them deep in our hearts so that on the day demand is placed on them, we have some reserves to draw on.
The last thing you want is to be drawing blanks when you need a word. A work around, scripture writes, is to ‘tell your children and your grand children’. In other words, make sure to surround yourself with people who have reserves of the Word so that even when you seem to have nothing, they will serve as your backup.
