IN PRIVATE OR IN PUBLIC?

Luke 7:33a Jesus took him away from the crowd to be alone with him.

Praise, honour, rebuke, and correction  can all be addressed to individuals in two settings: in private or in public. Regardless however of the domain within which they are administered, they have an impact on it’s hearers.

Whether affirmative or negative, to its intended audience, they have the potential to encourage or discourage, to build up or put down. They can equally trigger feelings of excitement, contentment, anger or even conflict.

So whenever these are to be offered, we ought to be mindful of the  environment within which they are given.
