Luke 3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

We notice that many people had been baptised for John had been doing this way before Jesus came on the scene and in every case, nothing out of the ordinary had happened. However, things were different with Jesus hence we will come to understand that the same encounter can have different outcomes and realisations depending on the ‘extra’.

While everyone was baptised, Jesus did something no one else is recorded to have done: ‘He prayed’ and then the extraordinary followed: the heavens opened and the father spoke. Regardless then of how skeptical you might be, it is undeniable that in ‘extra’, there are rewards. When one goes a step further than others, when you dedicate an extra minute or hour to something, you reap benefits and encounters merited at that level called ‘extra’.

You might not see immediate gains, but there is a system of rewards, advantages and benefits that are accessible only when you have done or given a bit more. So don’t always settle for mediocre.
