DAY 365 OF 365 IN 2021

In case you are yet to check the date today, it is Saint Sylvester’s Day. Yep, the 31st of December and day 365 of 365 in the year 2021. In a few hours, this year will turn the corner and usher in the dawn of another. This year has been another one which littered with many uncertainties hence many have had to navigate through year on edge, amidst a flurry of rules and restrictions that could change direction as easily as blades of grass in the wind.

Nonetheless, as you read this today, it does mean you have arrived at the cusp of another year, to God be the Glory. Now then, while being grateful, it’s an opportunity to also take stock of the events of the past year before the curtains are drawn. A verse in today’s text seemed to express what I am most grateful for this year:

1 John 2:19 'They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.'

The new bonds I was able to forge as well as those relationships I have been able to hold on to, are my highlight for the year. This year has taught me what it means to persevere and hold on to the people who add value to you as a person. To hold on to those relationships that challenge and encourage you on your life’s journey. This year has taught me that some relationships are really worth fighting for and others, that ought to be let go.

More than ever, I have come to appreciate the place of different people in a life and how they can be strategically used by God in the lifting of others. That is my year in a flash, and I know each of us have our own highlight. My prayer for you then is that we are endowed with the graces we need to navigate the coming year and may the New year be littered with victories as you journey along.

God bless you
