DAY 336 OF 365 IN 2021

WILL YOUR ANCHOR HOLD
Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
It is an interesting take that in classifying the wise and foolish, ‘the ability to build in anticipation for harsh weather’ is what was applied with the choice of foundation ultimately becoming the deciding factor. What came to mind as I read today text was the situations one needed to simulate prior to making this choice.
Today’s message throws light on an area in life we often don’t pay attention to, ‘the times of tribulation’.
On the journey of life, neither status, power, possession, or fame an exempt anyone from the storms, waves and winds.
Therefore, you have to build a system of accommodation, resilience and pulling through. You ought to have measures in place, almost in anticipation that one day, you will encounter situations: waves, storms and winds that will query the very fundamentals of your belief system. Situations that will bring the lyrics of this song to light ‘will your anchor hold in the storms of life?’
And in case your contemplating your choice for a foundation, let me recommend one ‘Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the LORD GOD is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]( Isaiah 26:4)
