ENGAGING THE MIND

DAY 324 OF 365 IN 2021

ENGAGING THE MIND

I am always fascinated by the mind. Its full potential remains to be discovered. I was drawn in today by the example the Sadducees presented to Jesus: This was the story:

Teacher, Moses wrote this law for us: ‘If a man dies and leaves a wife but no children, that man's brother must marry the widow so that they can have children who will be considered the dead man's children.’ Once there were seven brothers; the oldest got married and died without having children.  Then the second one married the woman, and then the third. The same thing happened to all seven—they died without having children. Last of all, the woman died. Now, on the day when the dead rise to life, whose wife will she be? All seven of them had married her.”(Luke 20:28-33)

The extent and amount of thought process that went into coming up with this kind of scenario is just fascinating. We often marvel at the amount of intricacy it takes to come up with a plan to harm, entrap or paint another in a bad light. So I often wonder what our world would look like if those same efforts were dedicated to thinking and pursuing good?

Our minds do have the potential to be directed in very many directions and depending on the direction of pursuit chosen, they could become tools for good or for evil. What is your mind pursuing now?
