DAY 310 OF 365 IN 2021

Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

There is one thing often heard from people who want to save money: “I will save when I have more’. It is because of this myth that advisors suggest to save regardless of the size, however little that may be. They advice not to despise the power of little.

Jesus is emphatic along same this line with his words ‘He that is faithful in least is faithful in much’. In other words, if you can be trusted with little, you can be trusted with much more. And if you cannot be trusted with little, you are at the back of the queue to be entrusted with much. We can also draw from the parable of the talents in look 19:17 ‘’Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’

Often, small things and humble beginnings are despised in anticipation of bigger things arriving at once. However, one who is unable to manage small things is no better placed to manage big things. One who is unable to execute an office of managing a square metre, will most likely find it harder to mange a hundred square metres.

Beloved, big and huge things are often birthed from many small pieces. Big experiences are an accumulation of small ones therefore, regardless of what is entrusted to you, be a good custodian of it even if it is a small matter. Do not despise the place of small things.
