DAY 254 OF 365 IN 2021

NO LUKEWARMNESS
Luke 6:43-44 For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush."
There is always a desire and tendency to lean towards mix and match when we can. Simply put, people prefer to have multiple options at their disposal hence the wish that we would have the opportunity be hot one day and be cold on another.
However, Jesus does not dare introduce us even in the very least, to the concept of lukewarmness. His discourse thus offers no middle ground: there is no “good bad guy’ or ‘bad good guy’. It is one shade only, no grey – just black or white. A good tree bears good fruit and a bad tree, bad fruit.
Lukewarmness is not encouraged because the end result is already known: God spits such out of his mouth(Rev 3:16). Beloved, ‘we produce fruits of the same kind as the state of our hearts.’ And there is a state of heart that makes our fruits identifiable and attributable to God – the state that identifies with His goodness.
