Can you find the word of the Lord that speaks directly to your current situation?

The sequence of events in today’s Gospel is eye-catching : Jesus walks into the synagogue as his custom, was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah and found the place with the words “

Luke  4:18,19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

After these words, He rolled up the scroll and spoke. The words that draws my attention is “He FOUND the place where it was written”. Hence, the opening preamble: Can you find the word of the Lord that speaks directly to your current situation?

Humans have questions about some of the most complicated of circumstances, some situations where the logic and reasonings available in the realm of man are nowhere near adequate. Situations we can simply refer to as ‘beyond men’. The one stop shop however, for answers to everything is the encyclopedia of the universe-the God who set the heavens and the earth on its foundations.

If only we would search His word, if only we would sit at his feet to heed his voice, then like Jesus, we will also find the exact word that is applicable in our very specific situation. Not a mix of trial and error, but one with laser-guided accuracy.
