DAY 237 OF 365 IN 2021

A RIGHT DISPOSITION
1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
There is disposition from which the Word has the effect intended on its listener or reader, the disposition when it’s origins are traced and attributed to God, and not just touted as the the opinion of learned men. Saint Paul reminded Timothy of this in his letter with the Amplified version relaying his words as such:
“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honourably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”[2 Timothy 3:16-17]
Beloved, the Word of God can be of no effect if it is seen in ‘an ordinary light’ because the weighting of the strength of any evidence is linked directly to the integrity and authority of the source. In the vineyard of God, man is a precious partner, however if ‘a man’ becomes the only face recognisable behind the Word of God, the God meant to be exalted through those letters and pages, is lost even in the pages of the same scripture.
The author and authority behind scripture is God, thus every page and letter should lead us to fix our attention on Him as He is revealed through His Word.
