DAY 178 OF 365 IN 2021

Mark 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

The woman with the issue of blood, about whom we read in today’s Gospel is a clear example of ‘acting in faith’. However, it is her process of obtaining results that caught my attention today.

She gathered multiple reports about Jesus, and it would be evident that not all of those reports were complementary. Surely, there would have been some that would have portrayed Him as a charlatan or even a fraud. Nonetheless, on the basis of aggregating all the reports, she developed a personal hypothesis about the man and about her situation.

This was her conclusion following her analysis of the reports ‘If I may but touch His clothes, I will be whole’. These words were not said to her by another, neither were the seeds of her conviction planted by others, it was the outcome of a personal journey.

Beloved, it really does not matter the number and nature of the results you hear about others and about God, you have to make up your own mind. You have to compose your own thesis on the basis of the reports you gather because that information will become the trigger for the action of faith you take.
