A YIELDED EVESSEL

DAY 119 OF 365 IN 2021

Acts 13:22 And when He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king: of him He testified and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart [conforming to My will and purposes], who will do all My will.’

Today’s text sounded a little bit strange in my eyes and even when I attempted to picture the scenario, it still did not quite fit together easily. Here was the issue: God, the creator of the universe had to search for, and find David. Maybe that sounds normal to you but let me rephrase it in a manner that shows the actual picture: the author of life, God, the creator of all things; including the formation of man and making him a living soul, still wields no direct control over man.

It appears his hands are all but tied when dealing with the affairs of man because even with so many people, He still has to search to find. Searching is not only in the context of just physically locating a person, because that is an easy feet for a God who has the earth as His footstool- it is the more about the acceptance of His will and the conscious decisions to align.

Let’s put it this way ‘God is still in need of men and women who will conform to His will and do His purposes’. In effect, He was not just  interested in their physical locations, but the actual state of their heart in comparison to His will. An alternative rendition clarifies this search even further: ‘I’ve searched the land and found this David, son of Jesse. He’s a man whose heart beats to my heart, a man who will do what I tell him.’

Beloved, God still searches, even today, and How He uses the people He finds, is dependent not on their ability, but their availability. Like aways, He still seeks for men and women, whose hearts beat in synchrony with His. Individuals who are willing to be aligned, willing to pay the price for ‘All of Him’, which is ‘All of them’. God may be searching through the entire land, but only yielded vessels will be found. Do you count in that number? How yielded are you?
