DAY 47 OF 365 IN 2021
Genesis 6:7, 8 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
When everything is gone, and everyone gone their own way, when all men have forsaken the way and each have become their own God, when men have kicked God from the seat of their hearts and enthroned everything else but Him, will you be the last man standing?
That is the call I perceive from the story of Noah. Noah lived in a generation where everything and everyone around him had departed from the things of God and embraced wickedness. Such was the state that God intended to wipe out the entirety of his creation. But even with such a plot, one man found favour in his sight. It sounds crazy, but one man appeared immune to all the corruption that was all around him.
We hear that if you can’t beat them, join them, but for Noah, that was not the way to go. He could not beat them, and so He held on fast hold to what you know as right. So our message, even when all around you are going a certain way, stay true to the Word. Don’t follow the crowd.
