DAY 32 OF 365 IN 2021

Mark 5:18-19 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.

In current times, many employees are are working from home so trips to the office are becoming a thing of the past, at least that is how it seems for now. Before these times, many companies had a primary base of operation, the headquarters, in addition to many decentralised branches. For those who worked at the headquarters therefore, there was some swagger in responding ‘I work from the HQ’ when asked about their branch of operation

After the man in the Gospel was made whole and in his right mind, he pleaded to go with Jesus. In other words, he wanted to work at the HQ. If nothing at all, he could boast of the company of the master himself. However, Jesus has other plans for him. He didn’t want him just him tagging along, he wanted him to give also as he had received. His life had to impact others and from where it would do so, was not at the side of Jesus.

His task was not to be at the HQ, but to go to the Decapolis to tell about his encounter. This Decapolis was a combination of ten cities and to be charged with witnessing to such multitudes was a tremendous feat.

Sweetheart, have you wondered why you seem to be meeting a closed door when you want to settle or be established in a specific domain? While any blockade may be easily seen as a hindrance, perhaps could it be God’s way of saying ‘that is not where I want the seeds of your gift to be planted’.

Some locations will not seem appealing to us, but in the plan of God, that may be where our impact will be at its maximum.
