MORE THAN WORDS

Tuesday: December 22, 2020

Luke 1:48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

We read the magnificat today, sometimes referred to as Mary’s  song of praise. In this text, there is one statement which is a prophecy: ‘henceforth all generations shall call me blessed’. And till date, the name of Mary is honoured whenever the name of Jesus is mentioned.

Yet, when we follow the life of Mary, we will come to the realisation that prophecy alone was not enough.
She had a lot of hard work to do, faced a multitude of hurdles and even many more challenging situations before all nations would indeed call her blessed.

Sweetheart, prophecies about a person’s destiny may be proclaimed in words, but its manifestation demands more than just words. It requires a full commitment on the part of the one who receives them and the discipline to pay the price that comes with its fulfilment. So don’t just stand back and cross your arms when a word of prophecy comes your way, be in position to engage them through faith and actions of obedience.
