Reference text: Luke 19:1-10
Luke 19:3,4 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
There are people who seem to work the hardest on anything they are given. Those who even though are aware of the limitations, still go over and above;
Those who are not afraid to run on ahead to climb a tree if that gets them towards their goal: a glimpse of Jesus. Simply, those who choose to do more.
Zacchaeus was recognised in society as a wealthy man- he could have found another way to meet Jesus. He didn’t need to climb a tree but he could have chosen to ride on the shoulders of another. But no, he runs on ahead and to climbs one to increase his elevation and view. In the end, his ‘doing more’ was met with a reward- Jesus noticed him and requested to stay in his home for dinner.
Sweetheart, just like running on ahead to climb a tree to catch a glimpse of Jesus is recorded scripture, those who do more will always stand out, head and shoulders above others. Why? Because doing more than the normal draws attention and to an extent, expresses the intents of our hearts. Therefore, let us dare to do MORE THAN the usual because in many cases, we are aren’t yet at the apex of our capabilites.
