From my Bible diary application, the month of March so far has presented a number of daily quotes which were interesting, offered food for thought and application for life. Join me explore of two of these:
1. Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
I thought about this the first I saw it and it was a real light bulb moment. I pictured a regular two wheel bike and the only time such a bike stays still while being ridden is when it is held in place by an external force. Once it stops, balance is lost and the rider steps off. ‘Stay at home’, if such an instruction has been ordered does not mean do nothing, because if you don’t and assume life has come to complete standstill, you will fall out of balance: spiritually, physically, academically, emotionally and psychologically. Keep moving.
2. There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.
That is just what it is. In a high rise building, the fastest way up may be the stairs, but it isn’t the fittest way. In the event of a fire, even the use of elevators are discouraged. Going by the stairs requires a planned approach, a stepwise progression where the energy expended can be paced. You also get more time while going up the stairs to meet other people and to establish connections. Sweetheart, stairs may suggest hard work but fruits become evident.
